High speed led police to pull over a car near Katherine yesterday later allegedly found to be hiding drugs.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman after they were allegedly found traveling at 180kmh in a 130kmh on the Stuart Highway south of Katherine.
Police managed to catch the Toyota Prado and pull them over about 10am.
The driver allegedly tested positive in a roadside drug test for methamphetamine.
A search inside the Toyota with drug detector dog Astra allegedly located drug paraphernalia and a quantity of drugs inside.
The pair were arrested and conveyed to Katherine Watch House.
The 31-year-old driver was charged with:
- drive with prohibited drug in blood
- driving at dangerous speed (45kmh over)
- possess less than traffickable quantity of schedule 1 dangerous drug in a public place
- possess thing-administer dangerous drug
The 28-year-old passenger was charged with:
- possess less than traffickable quantity of schedule 1 dangerous drug in a public place
- possess less than traffickable quantity of schedule 2 dangerous drug in a public place
- possess thing-administer dangerous drug
They we will appear in Katherine Local Court at a later date.
