One local wag has already dubbed it the ankle breaker after checking it out for the first time at the hot springs.
Alderman Toni Tapp Coutts prefers Tina the Turtle.
One thing is for certain, children just love playing on it.
The turtle is the centrepiece of the second stage of the hot springs renovation which has continued for four years and cost more than $3 million.
The turtle alone is believed to have cost around $400,000 to the dismay of many ratepayers.
One resident was even moved to describe it as hideous.
You can submit your suggested turtle name through the council's website or email contactus@ktc.nt.gov.au.
Make your suggestion before next Friday.
Aldermen will have the job of picking a winner.
