There was a Territory-wide crackdown on grog smugglers last week after police have become increasingly frustrated with the amount of alcohol being smuggled into dry communities.
Despite a large numbers of arrests, the seizure of alcohol and cars, smugglers are still prepared to risk all for the large profits to be made, with bottles of alcohol sold for as much as $500 each, according to police.
Police searched "a number of premises" in Katherine last week resulting in the arrest of four people, aged between 50 and 75.
"During the searches, police seized quantities of liquor and at one property located more than $16,000 in cash," a spokeswoman said.
All four people were charged with unauthorised sale of liquor and are due to face court at a later date.
Superintendent Daniel Shean said: "Point of Sale Intervention has had a remarkable impact on reducing alcohol related harm in Katherine. It is disappointing that there are some in our community that seek to benefit financially from vulnerable people".
Additionally, a 42-year-old female has been issued with a notice to appear after police conducted an RBT at Cahill's crossing.
At around 5:20am, police stopped a Toyota Prado headed for an alcohol protected area, locating 7.5 litres of alcohol in the vehicle.
The three passengers were issued with infringements for possessing alcohol in an alcohol protected area.
