Over three hot and humid days, many walked away with their first experience of a competitive athletics meet and all with a swag of medals in Gold, Silver and Bronze in addition to walking away with a large number of personal and season best performances.

For a small number of athletes representing their club, Katherine Athletics Centre, a final placing of 4th in a field of 14 teams was a great result.

Overall the club brought home 25 gold, 22 silver and 13 bronze medals totalling 60 medals overall.

Club president Nicole Simmonds said: "In a very difficult season, with very few of our Friday nights running as originally planned, our small team of committed athletes shone at this year's version of NT Champs with loads of pb's and bling for all.

"I am very proud of everyone's achievements and I look forward to seeing what can be achieved next year with hopefully a much smoother season."
