Anne Steinbach who lives at the roadhouse 30km north of Tennant Creek says there are reports of her dog seen at Mount Isa - six hours east of the roadhouse.
Oi is a big husky who was a favourite of the truckies who use the strategically located spot at the junction of the Barkly and Stuart Hwys but sadly Oi was stolen on April 9.
Anne said that she tried a helicopter search radio and news articles and even offering a $4500 reward but has had no luck in finding her beloved dog.
"I am heartbroken and in a world of pain since he is gone and i know who stole my precious boy," she said.
"Police was unable to bring Oi home so I want to get a private investigator."
Anne said she had lost her best friend.
"(He's) my pride ,the one that makes my day here every day in this lonely remote environment," she said.
"Truckies and customers ask me every day about Oi, some of them just come to see him
"It breaks my heart every day to not have him around . He is all I've got."
Anne has created a GoFundMe page to help her in her search for Oi.
Anyone with information about Oi can call police on 131 444, or phone Anne on 0476 470896.
