The October hit-and-miss storms are something residents have become used to and eagerly track on their radar apps.
The storms yesterday afternoon officially produced 4mm at Tindal with little else of note in the region.
Jabiru picked up 21mm and there were some good falls in the Tiwi Islands.
The Bureau of Meteorology says the cool temperatures will only remain for a few days before rising again to 38-40 degrees next week.
The bureau puts the chance of rain today at 60 per cent.
