The latest forecast is for the run of 42 degree days to continue for the next seven days at least.
Overnight temperatures are expected to climb as well over the next week, to reach 28 degrees, well abover average.
The long-term November average maximum temperature for Katherine is 37.4 degrees.
An official warning was issued by the NT's chief medical officer on the ongoing heatwave on Friday.
Temperatures haven't quiet reached the levels forecast yet, but are so close to make little difference.
Friday's top was 40.6, Saturday 41.1 and yesterday reached 41.5.
The hottest part of the day has been from 3-5pm.
Already some weather experts are considering the record run of heat experienced in Katherine this time last year.
Last year Katherine smashed the heatwave record of more than 10 days of 40 degrees or more in a row, Katherine about doubled that.
While the older records from Katherine show the hottest November was 46 degrees in 1991, the more recent records now taken at Tindal has 42.7 as the top.
