Witnesses said no one was hurt but a car was buried under the unhinged roof.
Residents in the area said they heard a loud bang but had no idea what really happened.
"I thought it was lightning," said one witness.
Another witness said the roof made no noise until it collided with the car and the ground.
Emergency services attended the scene to move the displaced roof and damaged car.
The incident happened after a storm and heavy winds came through the town.
