Darwin based Amy Hetherington will be performing her show Don't Feed the Ducks at Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre on February 10.
Ms Hetherington said the show is inspired by her impending transition to parenthood.
"I've reached this point in my life where me and my husband are starting to try for a kid, when you get to that point you start to freak out about everything," she said.
The Western Australia-born comedian said she feels underprepared for children and this feeling has inspired much of the show.
"You need a licence to drive a car... but there's no training or information about raising a child, it's about the fears of that.
"I'd love somebody to tell me what to do and what not to do."
Ms Hetherington draws on her own childhood, growing up in the regional WA town of Albany, where her handyman father often pushed the boundaries of acceptable parenting.
"Turns out none of that was useful because my childhood was a bit loose... most childhood memories are near death experiences," she said jokingly.
The show will be her first solo gig in Katherine, and she's looking forward to starting a strong 2021 after having a surprisingly successful time of it last year despite the pandemic.
The pandemic and its social distancing rules affected performers around the world last year, but Ms Hetherington said she was lucky to have a successful 2020 due to the NT's success in keeping the virus out.
The 2019 winner of the Adelaide Fringe Weekly Comedy Award said a lack of interstate performers meant she was able to perform in bigger venues and to lucrative corporate audiences.
"The privilege that I feel to be able to do this sort of stuff is wild," she said.
"Every show I do on this tour... I'm going to love every second of it because you just don't know when it's not going to be there anymore."
