The showcase called Katherine In Motion included 28 performers from the town, who put their talents on display at the Darwin Entertainment Centre.
The performers included musicians and a short film:
- Katherine Regional Arts Community Choir
- Brassy (Per and Shona Forsberg)
- Hope Campbell and Gypsy Schmidt (performing separately)
- 'Kajerain Heroes' - an audio/visual showcase of the Katherine Town Murals Project and its heroes
KRA executive officer Jacinta Mooney said the group "thrived" in front of a Covid-reduced capacity of 180.
"28 performers from Katherine enjoyed the spotlight at Darwin Entertainment Centre last Friday night and thrived," she said.
"The show sold out well before the event and unfortunately I know a number of 'Katherinites' who were turned away."
Ms Mooney urged Katherine residents to keep an eye out for the possibility of a similar show somewhere in the town.
"We are exploring the possibility of replicating the performance at home here in Katherine, but don't have any specific details to share just yet."
In the lead up to the event Ms Mooney said she was particularly keen for the young members of the group to perform in Darwin. On Wednesday she said they lived up to the hype.
"Particularly exciting was the reception Hope Campbell and Gypsy Schmidt received on the balcony stage," she said.
"Audiences got a chance to see these two rising stars up-close, and the contrasting styles of rapper Hope and acoustic songwriter Gypsy was just really captivating.
"We believe they've both got extraordinarily bright futures ahead of them and we were so happy to help provide this platform in Darwin for them."
Ms Mooney said the group is thankful for the crowd and organiser, and the night showed Katherine performers are more than capable of drawing a crowd in the NT's capital.
"Overall, we're very grateful for the opportunity to strut our stuff, and confident we proved that Katherine performers will not only sell out shows in Darwin but provide a memorable evening for all audience members."
