Katherine Town Council said the competition aims to encourage the community to help keep Katherine clean and tidy.
"Your participation will help beautify local streets, show pride in the neighbourhood and build community connectedness," KTC said in a statement.
The competition will have residential and rural categories.
The residential competition requires a minimum of five and a maximum off 20 houses per entry and these properties must be adjoining or adjacent in the same street.
To enter the competition head to the Katherine Town Council website, where you can submit your entry via web form or download a copy.
The prize money on offer came from donations made by Katherine MLA Jo Hersey, Katherine Town Council Mayor Mrs Elisabeth Clark and Katherine Town Council Alderman Matthew Hurley.
The competition prizes for both categories will be divided equally across registered participants and total:
- Residential 1st prize: $2000 and signage acknowledging them as the winners of the Tidiest Street Competition
- 2nd Prize: $1000
- Rural 1st Prize: $200 and signage acknowledging them as winners of the Tidiest Rural Property
- 2nd Prize: $100
The competition closes on June 30.
