The vacancy was created through the departure of Alderman Zelley.
In March, Council resolved to seek Expressions of Interests from eligible community members to fill the vacancy with nine submissions received.
The candidates were; Gregory Harmer, Peter McDougall, . Cristian Coman, Cameron Judson, Clinton Booth, Paul Walker, Amanda Kingdon, Jeremy Trembath and Brendan Penzer.
Mayor Elisabeth Clark said Katherine Town Council was excited to welcome a new "community minded" alderman in Jeremy Trembath.
She thanked all those who submitted applications and encouraged those nominees to do so again in August.
Jeremy Trembath's appointment with Katherine Town Council will commence on Wednesday May 5 and continue until the next scheduled Local Government Election in August 2021.
