The tournament welcomed 70 players from Darwin and saw approximately 18 Katherinites contest in various events including junior comps, social singles and doubles, as well as men's and women's open singles and doubles (AMT events).
"We were really pleased with how the Open went. The numbers were what we would normally get so thankfully the year long break didn't affect them at all," Katherine Tennis Club president, Greg Dickson, said.
"It was great for our social players and juniors to be in the same tournament as some of the NT's top players, we all get to watch each other, it's a part of what makes the atmosphere great during the Katherine Open.
"We try and have something for everybody because it's the only big event we have in Katherine, it's the only chance for all of our players to play in a proper tournament."
Darwin's Peter Politis, who is ranked in the top 200 players in Australia, won the men's open, taking out Palmerston's Ethan Prosser in the final, and later paired with his father, Nick to claim the doubles title.
Ava Willoughby won her first Katherine Open singles title but missed out in the doubles, leaving Emily Webb and Jessica Polack to claim the title, edging out two of the NT's best women's players, Kassandra Bagetto and Emma Labessa.
"The most competitive competition was probably the women's double, it was interesting," Dickson said.
"There were only four teams, two were more junior and the other two were older and were really strong juniors themselves, but just played for fun. One of them used to have an international ranking and one used to be the best women's player in the NT, it was a bit of a battle."
As for the juniors, Palmerston's Corey Pollock took out the 16s boys singles, with Alexanders Bracken and Christina Prete winning the 12s singles events.
The 14s boys doubles title was won by Jericho and Rafael Prete, while Ruva Nesvinga and Amber Sharp won the 14s girls doubles.
Tim Nesvinga won the green ball singles and, partnered with Will Pengelly, they took out the green ball doubles.
Katherine's Goldie Ganley won the red ball singles with Cash Brenner as runner-up.
Jeremyah Larcombe won the orange ball singles with Sienna Lee runner-up.
David Jazyschyn won a match in his green ball singles as well as his doubles where he teamed with Sienna Lee.
"We would look forward to future Katherine Open tournaments and hope to continue to have really strong support from other players around the Territory. We're hoping to keep providing a tournament that all players enjoy," Dickson said.
Katherine Tennis Club hosts junior coaching sessions each Saturday, and social tennis on Sunday's.
