Families and dignitaries helped mark the occasion for the conferees who were from seven countries including India, Mauritius, Netherlands, Philippines, United Kingdom, United States and Zimbabwe.
"Council invites cultural diversity, and it was a great honour to present 21 people, from seven different countries, with their Australian citizenship," Katherine Town Council mayor, Lis Clark said.
"There is no greater privilege than our citizenship. It's a life-long commitment to Australia's values of freedom, democracy, equality and respect."
