As it stands, the Katherine Rugby League's committee consists of six members, including secretary/treasurer Annette Schefe who has been on board for 10 years.
"I enjoy the interaction with people and providing a service for the community, and making sure the kids can play rugby league," she said.
Over time, the club has grown but volunteer numbers have dwindled down which has left the fate of the club in an uncertain state.
"It's very difficult with six members. Seven days a week, we're doing something to make sure our rugby league kicks off and runs smoothly throughout the season," Ms Schefe said.
"It's very important to have volunteers to run the club. If nobody does it, it will shut down, so we just have to keep it going to make sure there is a rugby league club in Katherine."
Despite Katherine's under 14s to 18s rugby league teams having kicked-off their season in April and the juniors to commence this Friday, Ms Scefe says it's not too late to jump on board.
"Many hands make light work. We would truly welcome and love to have more people join the committee to help us run a fantastic club," she said.
"It's a really great club with some really great people. It's a pleasure to provide a service for the community."
Katherine Rugby League Club holds a committee meeting every fortnight on Tuesday afternoon, and potential new members are encouraged to make an appearance.
