The safe, vibrant and welcoming Northern Territory has become a haven not only for those who already live here and returning Territorians, but also for those who looked north, saw something better, and decided to call the Territory home.
Four signature and 17 community events will take place across the Territory on July 1, uniting as the state celebrate everything adored about this unique place called home for many.
"The Northern Territory is the safest place to live in Australia and we are really lucky to be celebrating 43 years of independence at this great place we call home," Minister for Major Events, Natasha Fyles said.
"There's never been a better time to live here and I encourage all Territorians to celebrate our special day."
Appealing to both Territorians and visitors, the four signature events will include a special Welcome to Country, to drive home the Territory's proud Aboriginal heritage.
Adding to the local flavour, the soundtrack to the firework displays at these events will feature a range of music by Territory musicians, including Yothu Yindi, Tasman Keith and Stevie Jean, Jess Mauboy, King Stingray and Warumpi Band.
The Katherine and Tennant Creek events will feature an array of local musicians given the opportunity to perform.
Meanwhile nationally renowned performers will travel to the Territory and line up on stage alongside some of the best home-grown talent at the events in Darwin and Alice Springs, with Hot Dub Time Machine and Eskimo Joe heading to the Top End and Busby Marou to the Red Centre.
Family friendly events across this vast land, from Groote Eylandt to Yulara, will help regional and remote communities celebrate what they love about home.
