Northern Territory Police have charged two men in relation to drug offences near Barunga on June 12.

The 23 and 24 year-old males were traveling the East Arnhem Road in a Toyota Hilux when they were apprehended by police at a drug detection checkpoint.
Drug detection dog, Diesel was deployed and a traffickable amount of cannabis was located inside the vehicle and on the 24-year-olds person.
Further checks resulted in the location of various drug paraphernalia and alcohol, along with the vehicle being unregistered.
The 24-year-old was later charged with:
- 1 x Supply schedule 2 dangerous drug
- 1 x Possess schedule 2 dangerous drug traffickable quantity - public place
- 1 x Bring liquor into an Alcohol Protected Area
The 23-year-old was later charged with:
- 1 x Supply schedule 2 dangerous drug
- 1 x Possess schedule 2 dangerous drug traffickable quantity - public place
- 1 x Drive motor vehicle while unlicensed
- 1 x Drive unregistered motor vehicle
- 1 x Drive uninsured motor vehicle
- 1 x Bring liquor into an Alcohol Protected Area
- 1 x Drive with prohibited drug in body
Both men were remanded to face Katherine Local Court on the June 15, 2021.
