Close contacts
A person is a close contact if, in the last 14 days, they have:
- been told they are a close contact of a person with COVID-19 or
- attended any of the 'contact tracing alert' locations at the same time as a person who has COVID-19.
EARLIER: Greater Darwin's COVID lockdown will run for a further 72 hours and Territory Day celebrations have been delayed in response to a COVID-19 outbreak.
Stay at home orders will remain in place until 1pm on Friday.
One new case has been announced for the NT and for the first time there are public exposure sites.
Several sites have been designated as contact spots - including the Buff Club (high risk) in Darwin and Darwin Airport (medium-low risk).
People who visited the Buff Club on Friday have been told to isolate at home for 14 days and get tested.
Other news: Australia edging towards a national outbreak
Police said there were up to 150 people at the club on Friday night when a person who has since tested positive for Covid was there.
Anybody at other contact sites have also been told to get COVID testing as soon as possible.
Chief Minister Michael Gunner said that Territory Day celebrations would not go ahead on July one, but that there would be "one hell of a party" at a date to be set when the whole territory could celebrate.
The latest COVID cases come after a mine worker, who arrived from Brisbane into the NT on 18 June 2021, tested positive on Saturday for COVID-19.
The man travelled by charter plane to the Newmont Corporation gold mine in the Tanami Desert, where he works, on Friday 18 June 2021. It is believed he became infected during an overnight stay at a Brisbane quarantine hotel.
