Katherine Town Council Alderman, Matt Hurley has officially stated that he will be re-standing for election and this time, going for the head job.
"Yes, I am re-standing at the election. I'm running for mayor," Mr Hurley said.
"I'm confident in a re-election. You have have a positive mindset."
Hurley said the current culture of the Katherine Town Council is "positive".
"Things with the council are on track currently, but there's always room for improvement," Hurley said.
Katherine Council nominations opened on Friday, July 16, and they will close on Thursday, August 5 at 12:00pm.

Saturday, August 28 will be Election Day and the results will be declared on Monday, September 13.
