The show is set to dazzle under the dry season sky at St Joseph's College this Thursday July 29.
Katherine Regional Arts Executive Officer Jacinta Mooney said the Katherine community has a long tradition of supporting Opera Australia's regional tours.
"Opera in Katherine is not like attending a traditional opera," she said.
"In Katherine, it's presented in a school yard - outside, half under a tin basketball roof, on plastic chairs.

"Yet being outside on a gorgeous star-filled dry season night is as equally beautiful as being seated in a Concert hall."
The classic opera, by French composer Georges Bizet, deals with the love and jealousy of Don José who falls in love with gypsy woman Carmen.
Although the show is sung in French, English subtitles will run across the top of the stage.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite and are free for kids under 13.
Doors open at 6.30 with food and a bar available.
