Travers Court in Katherine East was named after Roderick Travers who held the lease on Glencore Station, north of Katherine, with P. Glibson in 1879.

Glencore, along with Spingvale stations, were the first in the Top End to be consistently developed at that time.
Glencore station has since been incorporated into Ban Ban Station.
