A major search was launched for 34-year-old Ajit Khan, whose ute was found stranded in Piesseville during a storm last week.

WA Police on Wednesday said Mr Khan's body had been found within the search area. A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Mr Khan lived in Katanning and had been travelling back from Perth when his car became submerged in Piesseville, about 220km southeast of Perth.

He was not believed to be a strong swimmer.

A four-wheel drive was also found submerged near Mr Khan's ute, while a third vehicle was discovered in floodwaters at the Murray River crossing in Hoffman, 150km southeast of Perth.

The drivers of both vehicles contacted police to advise they were safe and well.

Perth experienced several large storms last month, recording its wettest July in 26 years.

The cold front that passed through the state's south early last week left more than 21,000 homes and businesses without power.

Another storm over the weekend caused minor flooding in parts of the state.
