The 15 candidates for Councillor roles and five candidates for Mayor were invited to take part in a 'Meet the Candidates' forum on the weekend where they each had the opportunity to pitch themselves to the community, and answer questions from those who attended.
Around 60 members of the community turned out to the event at Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre, according to Council CEO Ian Bodill.
"Community members were given every opportunity to attend and freely pose their questions to the nominees - all to assist them on making their vote," Mr Bodill said.

Each of the nominees was given three minutes to respond to the question of "What are your reasons for nominating and why should people vote for you?"
"[The] majority of nominees mentioned their passion for sustainability, community consultation/engagement and a more connected Katherine," Mr Bodill said.
"Elected Members play a crucial role in shaping the direction of our town, it's important to make an informative vote on those who will be making decisions on your behalf for the next four years.
"Ensure you vote. Election day is Saturday 28 August 2021"
