For Jeremy Trembath, being voted to remain on Katherine Town Council is not so much about a campaign, but more so about the community's wants and needs.
With travelling a common component in the makeup of his younger years having gone back-and-forth to his birthplace, Africa, as a child, Mr Trembath has settled in Katherine with his wife, Amy.
"After living in Africa dad had swore he didn't want to go anywhere where it was hot and you had to drive long distances for vet work, so we came to Katherine which is not hot and you don't have to drive long distances," Mr Trembath joked.
"Katherine is home, it is where it is."
While his priority is being a voice for the community, as a farmer Mr Trembath has an appreciation for the environment.
"Waste management is one of my biggest things, and another is listening to the community and seeing what people want, to sift through their wants and needs and see what can and can't be done," he said.
"The point of being a Councillor is that we are there to represent the people rather than just an individual."
As a current Councillor, Mr Trembath's knowledge of what it takes for promises to be transformed into reality is a draw card for voters.
"It's one thing to say 'we're going to do this, that and the other', but to actually put it into practice is time consuming," he said.
"There's a lot of talk about a lot of things that Council can't actually change. It takes time to make things move, it's not an easy process.
"I'm invested in Katherine, and with the knowledge of my parents and their guidance, I'd be a reasonable choice."
