Having lived and worked in regional and remote areas over the past 15 years, Mr Civitarese said it's his 'lived-experience' that would serve the people of Daly well.
"I understand the challenges people in regional and remote areas face," Mr Civitarese said.

"It's this kind of lived-experience that enables me to actually understand what people are going through and be a strong advocate for them.
"The people of Daly need someone to speak loudly for them."
Mr Civitarese, who has served in the Australian Army, was elected as a councillor of the Barkly Regional Council in 2017, acted as Deputy Mayor between 2018/19 and served on the Executive of the Local Government Association of the NT.

Faced with a plethora of challenges, the Daly division desperately needs a strong voice, according to Mr Civitarese, who will "hold the current Government to account".
"Daly is facing issues that most places across the Territory are facing. They desperately need infrastructure, there's telecommunications and health services in Dundee, housing, roads, there's plenty there," Mr Civitarese said.
"We need to see more money spent in the Daly. At the moment, the Government is Darwin-centric.
"We have what's called above the berrimah line in the Territory and all the spending seems to be spent above the berrimah line because that's where all the votes are.
"We're not trying to win Government here, it's about making sure that the bad Government we have doesn't have a stronger voice."
The Daly by-election comes following the resignation of Ian Sloan, and will be held on September 11, 2021.
