Flowing waters, healing light
Plan ahead
This community event is in memory of loved ones lost through suicide or tragedy. In the past few years Katherine and surrounding communitites have faced a fair share of heartbreak, with the impact and ongoing grief taking a toll. This event aims to bring together the community to comfort each other and encourage people to seek assistance. Dr Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr Baumann AM, aboriginal activist, educator and artist and Senior Australian of the Year 2021, will be attending. There will also be weaving and bush medicine by Banatjarl Strongbala Wumin Grup, Water and Smoking Healing by Jawoyn Rangers, representation by Wandimen Elders (Binjari) and a release of healing lights and native flowers. September 9, Katherine Lower Level, 5pm-7pm. Everybody is welcome.
