Key issues during the election included the future development of Katherine, such as housing shortages, the development of business and agricultural sectors and creating opportunities to bring in new residents while supporting those already in Katherine.
Projects which add to the "liveability" of Katherine were also on the table, including more shade options, transport links and kid-safe bicycle routes.
Work to remove heavy-vehicle movement through the centre of the town was also seen as an issue that needed addressing.
Counting will continue this week with the official result to be declared on September 13.
