Ms Clark was officially elected as Mayor on Friday evening, maintaining her position after taking over for former Mayor Fay Miller who retired late last year.
Preliminary results showed Ms Clark was neck and neck with fellow Mayoral Candidate Kevin South, with the final outcome coming down to preferences.
"I was prepared for either way," she said.
"You never know how those preferences are going to fall."
Ms Clark said she was "over the moon" to be elected.
More news:
"Everyone was so excited. I've had so many messages and phone calls from other mayors," she said.
"I would like to thank everyone who put their faith in me to stand for another four years.
"I will certainly be working hard to get the best we can out of this council."
The six elected Katherine Councillors have also been named as; Kym Henderson, Jeremy Trembath, Maddy Bower, Ben Herdon, Amanda Kingdon and Denis Coburn.
Ms Clark said she was excited to work with a largely brand new team.
"I think we're very fortunate. I think we'll be a good team."
"I feel really humbled that the Katherine community trusts me to keep doing what I'm doing," she said.
"It gives me such passion to keep going."
Mr Herdon will be joining council for the first time following this election, and said he is excited for the challenge.
"It's a massive responsibility and there's a lot to learn - the learning curve will be steep, I'm very aware of that," he said.
"I am mindful that I'm the newest resident of Katherine on the council and I'm really grateful that the community had faith in me."
Mr Herdon commended the diversity of representation on the new council.
"The Indigenous representation is great, having me at the table as a gay man I think is great too," he said.
According to a statement from Katherine Town Council, the Deputy Mayor will be elected at the first council meeting on September 28.
The community is encouraged to attend the meeting at 6pm at the Civic Centre or watch in live on Facebook.
