According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the fire danger rating is set to reach 'High' for the Katherine Fire Protection Zone by Wednesday September 15 and 'Very High' by September 16.
The 'Very High' rating is set to continue into Friday September 17, with temperatures climbing as high as 38C.
Wednesday September 15 is set to be the hottest day of the week, with a maximum temperature of 39C predicted and a small chance of rain.
Any chance of rain is set to disappear by Thursday September 16, with sunny conditions and temperatures in the high 30's predicted for the rest of the week.
Winds of 15 to 25 km/h are predicted for Wednesday through to Saturday and are predicted to increase to 20 to 30 km/h on Sunday September 19 before easing again on Monday.
