Ms Henderson, who was one of three re-elected members of the council, was voted in by her fellow Councillors on Tuesday night.
The other Councillor to nominate for the position was Amanda Kingdon.

Before the vote, Ms Henderson said she wanted to be elected to further serve her community.
"As most of you probably watched through my campaign, I am a passionate and dedicated member of this community," she said.
"I love Katherine and I would feel blessed to be voted in as Deputy Mayor."
