Planning a Territory road trip is set to get simpler as hotels, motels, wayside inns and caravan parks get help to introduce online booking platforms as part of a $75,000 programme.
The Territory government has opened applications for the Accommodation Book Now grant program with tourism accommodation providers able to apply for grants of up to $2500 with a $1 for $1 contribution required.
"The drive market makes up approximately 40 per cent of all visitors to the Territory, which means it's vital we do everything we can to make the experience as convenient as possible for guests,"Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Natasha Fyles said.
"It's vital for accommodation businesses to be instantly bookable so they can meet customer expectations and maximise sales."
Applicants can use funding to implement an online booking system, to integrate on their current website or create a website that features a booking system.
Tourism NT will organise training workshops and connect operators with online travel agents and trade partners once eligible operators have implemented their booking systems.
The Accommodation Book Now grant program closes on 1 December. For more information including eligibility requirements visit https://www.tourismnt.com.au/industry-toolkit/grants-funding
