COVID-19 NEWS:
KEY LOCKOUT FACTS
From 3pm on Sunday, November 7 Katherine, Darwin, Palmerston and the Rural Area are in lockout, with this scheduled to end at 11:59pm on October 8.
Under a lockout, fully vaccinated residents are able to live normally within the lockout area. Everyone must wear a mask outside their place of residence. Travel is permitted between the Katherine and Greater Darwin lockout zones - if you are double vaccinated - but not to other parts of the NT.
If you are fully vaccinated
- Businesses remain open, schools are open, life is normal.
- If you are symptomatic, get tested and isolate.
If you are unvaccinated
Unvaccinated, including those people who have received only their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, must stay at home during a lockout period and are only permitted to leave for the following five reasons:
1. Medical treatment, including getting a COVID test or getting vaccinated;
2. For essential goods and services, like groceries and medicines;
3. For work that is considered essential and can't be done at home;
4. For one hour of exercise a day, with one other person or the people that you live with, and no further than five kilometres from your home; and finally
5. To provide care and support to a family member or person who cannot support themselves. This includes separated families sharing the care of children.
Vaccinated and unvaccinated essential workers are allowed to go to work in Katherine and Darwin.
