It comes as the national capital's double does vaccination rate increased to 97.2 per cent of over-12s.

ACT health authorities said hospitalisations from COVID-19 in Canberra have remained stable.

There are still five COVID-19 patients in hospital, with two of those in intensive care and one on a ventilator.

There are now 184 active cases of the virus in the community.

Testing rates remained relatively high for a weekend, with more than 1600 conducted on Sunday.

It comes as the ACT on Monday moved to ease visitor restrictions at health facilities.

Patients will now be allowed two visitors per person per day at hospitals, community health centres and walk-in clinics.

"The decision to restrict visitors to our health facilities is always a difficult one, but it ensures we can protect the health and safety of everyone," an ACT Health spokesman said.

"This is especially necessary for our most vulnerable, particularly patients whose health is already compromised."

COVID-safe rules will still apply in all health settings.
