The Katherine Public Library was named the winner of the Regional and Remote category at the recent Australian Library & Information Association NT Recognition Awards.
Katherine Mayor Lis Clark said the team's hard work to improve their services had paid off.
"In the past 12 months, after a significant change in staffing and management, the Katherine Public Library set out to re-invigorate library services in all aspects," she said.
"The physical space has been renovated with a dramatic change in layout and a new conference room has been built for community groups."

A number of the library's programs had been renewed and refreshed with a renewed focus on community events including; Pride Storytime, Seniors Photography Exhibitions, Intergenerational Storytime, NAIDOC Week events, 3D printing and a local author book fair.
"Katherine public library continues to strive for excellence in customer service and is looking forward to offering a number of events and programs in 2022," Ms Clark said.
