A woman in her 70s from Binjari community, near Katherine, passed away with COVID-19.
The woman was unvaccinated.
"The NT Government extends its sincere condolences to her family and loved ones," a statement from the Department of Chief Minister and Cabinet read.
The woman was one of a number of people in the remote community who contracted the virus amid a recent outbreak, which now has a total of 60 cases across Binjari, Katherine and the remote communities of Robinson River and Lajamanu.
Chief Minister Michael Gunner is set to provide a COVID-19 update at 11.30am ACST.
