Assistant Commissioner and Regional Controller for cyclone, Janelle Tonkin, told media this afternoon that there had been no reported injuries or infrastructure damage thus far in the communities of Groote Eylandt, Ngukurr or Numbulwar.
The system grazed the south of Groote Eylandt as it passed through early this morning and is now making its way over Ngukurr as a category 1 cyclone.
"I can advise Territorians that the system as it passed Groote Eylandt, there are no reported injuries to any persons or any infrastructure. The shelters are closed on Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island," she said.

"Numbulwar and Ngukurr, no reported injuries to any persons or infrastructure damage at all in those communities.
"They are experiencing some fairly wet and windy conditions and emergency services will continue to monitor and will report as the day progresses on any further damage reported in those communities."
She said 55 people are currently registered as using the cyclone shelter in Ngukurr.
Assistant Commissioner Tonkin said authorities were now preparing for potential flooding, with the Waterhouse River expected to flood, impacting the community of Beswick.
The system is set to bring daily rainfall totals of between 50 to 100mm, and more than 200mm in isolated areas.
"They are well versed and the majority of the houses in that community are above that major flood level," she said.
"So at this point, the modeling doesn't indicate we're likely to have to evacuate. We'll continue to watch that situation and provide further updates."
She said modelling predicts the Katherine River will reach a "moderate" flooding level, which will not require evacuations.
Emergency Service volunteers from Katherine have been deployed to Mataranka to assist in the clean-up after last night's storm.
"Currently we have members from the Katherine volunteer unit deployed to Mataranka to assist with chainsaw operations, as a result of weather, with trees that have come down," Gemma Bellenger from NT Emergency Services said.
