Ex-Tropical Cyclone Tiffany could bring gale-force winds and flooding to Katherine as soon as Thursday as it makes its way towards the region, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

BOM Senior Meteorologist Jackson Browne said Katherine could expect daily rainfall totals of between 50 and 120 millimeters on Thursday.
"Then Friday that's pretty much repeated - 30 to 90 millimeters, Saturday 10 to 50," Mr Browne said.
"So there's quite a few days is very heavy, very cloudy rainfall."

He said gusts, like those recorded in Tindall on Wednesday morning, could be seen again in coming days.
"And those sort of gusts could be expected with the passage of the ex-tropical cyclone going into tomorrow," he said.
"It's a fairly heavy weather situation for people in Katherine."
Mr Browne also said there was a chance of flooding "in some of the rivers around Katherine and possibly Katherine river itself" as early as Thursday.
"So the rain's already falling [it's] just a finite time for it to end up into the river system."
