Deputy CEO at Yugul Mangi Development Aboriginal Corporation, Brock Schaefer-Walker, said the community was hit the hardest on Wednesday morning.
"I'd say we got hit hardest at around about 10.30 in the morning," he said.
"I think from what the Bureau [of Meteorology] said it was about 90km an hour winds at the height of it, so we've got a fair whack of wind. A lot of trees went down pretty quickly.
OTHER TIFFANY NEWS:
"And then just a little bit of rain, but it was all over quite quickly. Maybe like an hour, an hour and a half tops."
He said there were no reports of injuries, with some houses requiring repair.
"So from what I've heard, there hasn't been any injuries," Mr Schaefer-Walker said.
"People were a little bit worried but no one was panicked, which was really great to see and people weren't rushing to the store and panic buying or anything like that. They weren't traveling on the roads. Everyone was being really, really good about it.
"I think the only thing was damage to fences and a few rooves and powerlines being dropped on account of the wind and all the rest of it."
The community now faces the long task of cleaning up the damage, with work beginning on Thursday morning by a combination of organisations and residents.
"We do have a good amount of people who are willing to jump in and help so it's just a matter of slowly chipping away at it," Mr Schaefer-Walker said.
