STOCKMAN Lynton Tapp has swapped the wide open space of cattle stations for a Melbourne television studio, to contest his culinary talents on the up-coming fifth series of Masterchef Australia.

The 25-year-old Katherine man is one of 22 contestants vying for the $250,000 cash prize, and the opportunity to elevate his cooking career.
Lynton told the show’s producers that his younger sister Emily had inspired him to go on the show.
The food lover spent eight months assisting his sister at a rehabilitation centre in America last year, after she broke her back in a horse riding accident.
He cooked for her to ensure she received the best nutrition while she was learning to walk again and the impact of his care inspired his passion and knowledge about food and healthy eating even further.
His dad, Katherine cattleman Ben Tapp, said his son would cook roasts at barbeques and for Christmas dinners when Lynton worked on the family’s stations, which were sold last year.
“He’s always liked cooking,” Mr Tapp said.
