CITIZENS ELECTORAL COUNCIL OF AUSTRALIA
Age: 61
Hometown: Humpty Doo
What will you do for Katherine, and the region if elected?
The Citizens Electoral Council of Australia will create a nationwide economic recovery by enacting our three point program, which will impact on Katherine decisively.
We have to look at the nation as a whole, and work down from there.
We must also realise that Australia sits in a world on the verge of a new phase of global financial crisis, and therefore global cooperation is required, to reorganise the banking system and put people and nations ahead of big banks and corporations.
What are your key policies?
1. Implement a Glass-Steagall banking separation, so that deposit-taking banks may not speculate;
2. Recreate the original Commonwealth Bank as a bank of the nation, to fund economic development;
3. Launch our Blueprint for Economic Development, including great rail, water and power projects.
How do you plan to create opportunities for economic development in Katherine and the region?
The above three point program will unleash major development projects and infrastructure building across the nation, and therefore economic prosperity, with hundreds of thousands of highly skilled jobs.
To do it, we must recreate a national bank, as we had with the old Commonwealth Bank, which funded much of our WWII mobilisation and our post war reconstruction.
What is your stance on the live cattle export industry?
We should return to using local abattoirs as much as possible to keep processing jobs in Australia.
That being said, the “animal rights” intervention to stop live cattle export was part of a campaign, supported by all major parties, to shut down Australia’s agriculture.
