Singer-songwriter Serina Pech returned to her hometown of Katherine to shoot her first music video for aptly-titled “Sugar Muffin”.
James Mangohig, who produced the video, said he spotted the location while driving through town.
“I saw this shop, and when Serina sent her songs through to me, I thought it would be really amazing to shoot that song in this cupcake store,” Mr Mangohig explained.
Now based in Darwin, the 20-year-old Pech said she was enthusiastic about ticking off the colourful milestone in her musical career.
“I am excited to get some extras in and to eat some cake,” Pech said.
YMCA Katherine rallied troops for the shoot, but one extra that was not expected was Katherine Town Council mayor Fay Miller.
Mr Mangohig said it took a tasty incentive for Alderman Miller to appear in the video.
“The mayor came in for a sausage roll,” he said.
“I said I would shout her one if she would join in and eat a cupcake on screen.”
Director Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore – who has directed music videos for Australian performers like rapper 360 – filmed two videos for Pech while in Katherine.
“We bought Claudia up because she is a bit guerilla style,” Mr Mangohig said.
“She can deal with anything.”
