Two lanes of the southbound exit of the Stuart Highway have been closed in Katherine after a fire broke out at the visitor information centre carpark just before noon.

It appears that a caravan caught on fire.
Police, firemen and paramedics are on the scene and have controlled the blaze.
The Stuart Highway is still open.
