Police from the Drugs and Organised Crime Division have arrested a 66-year-old male for possession of 224 grams of methamphetamine.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the drugs were allegedly located in a vehicle being driven by the male.
“A traffic stop around 11 last night just south of Elliot has resulted in officers becoming suspicious and searching the vehicle.
“The male was taken to the Katherine Watch House where he was charged with possess and supply a commercial quantity of a schedule one drug.
“We will continue to target people involved in the manufacture and distribution of this toxic drug that has caused so much damage to our community,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

The male was to be appear in Katherine Local Court today.
