The Rotary Club has announced the popular 000 Ball will be made a bi-annually event to allow “organisers to refresh and to respect the generous businesses of the town, who would otherwise be asked to contribute annually towards the fundraising”.
Organisers said the event had been extremely popular in the last three years, since the first 000 Ball was held in 2010.
But with a nine-months planning timeline, organisers said it would be impossible to hold an annual event on the scale of last year’s ball.
“Although there will be no Rotary 000 Concert this year, we will be hosting a 000 revisited dinner and show for all the past performers and partners,” organisers said.
“This event will comprise of a sit down dinner and a showing of the highlights from the past three years’ performances.”
Planning for next year’s 000 Ball is set to commence later this year.
