Police intend to widen their search which has now entered its second week to include local waterways.
Divers will be used in the more extended search after they had already search the plunge pool.
The children of missing Queensland man Alex Rosenberg arrived in Katherine last week appealing for public help.
Police including members of the Territory Response Group together with Park Rangers have searched the area on foot and by helicopter – however no sign of the missing person has been found.
Focus now is on a search of waterways in the area, police said..
Mr Rosenberg went missing from the Edith Falls campground eight days ago, although the alarm was not raised under Tuesday.
New information suggests he was seen in the campground on Sunday and did not go missing on the Saturday, when he initially arrived, as first thought.
An extensive search by air, ground and water has still failed to locate the 67-year-old.
The family is appealing for anyone with information or having sighted their father to please contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000, or police on 131 444.
