About 20 Katherine families who have received support through the early years of their child’s development attended the party at the town playground.
HIPPY program coordinator Heather Dingle said the day marked the organisation’s success in Katherine.
“We are celebrating the fact that Katherine has this great free program that is really making a difference,” she said.
Those involved in the HIPPY program were also celebrating the government’s recent decision to fund the program for a further two years.
“It really shows the government has confidence in the program,” Ms Dingle said.
While Katherine’s HIPPY program is not quite at the 20 mark just yet, the organisation has seen growth in community engagement over its eight year span.
