A December birth has made for an extra special Christmas for Katherine couple Seneti and Benjamin Orr.
The new parents welcomed Monica Joan Putry Orr into the world on Saturday at 4.04pm, one week early and very close to Christmas.
“The whole family is coming to visit and they are very excited,” Mrs Orr said.
“This will be by far the best Christmas.”
The couple arrived at the Katherine Hospital with time to spare on the morning of the birth.
Mrs Orr said she was cooking garlic bread when contractions began.
“My husband told me I had to forget about the garlic bread to get to the hospital.
“I wanted to wait it out because I was hungry, but it was time to go and we didn’t get a chance to eat it,” she said.
Now the third child in the family, the newborn is going home to an excited family in the midst of Christmas preparations.
“We are so happy she was born so close to Christmas. It is a very special time of year and we always have a lot of fun,” Mrs Orr said.
“She is our Christmas baby.”
