The 14-year-old was killed on a remote pastoral lease and was reported to police late on Saturday night.
While the 14-year-old girl suffered fatal injuries and passed away at the scene a 13-year-old girl was also airlifted to Royal Darwin Hospital as a result of the accident.
Three other youths involved were uninjured and are assisting police with their investigations into the fatal crash.
Police said the group were guests at the private property and management are assisting police.
Detectives from Major Crash Investigation Unit attended the location, seized the vehicle and continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old woman who was injured on a hiking trail atop the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges, was successfully rescued by NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services overnight.
Just after 4pm, police were notified the woman was hiking along the southern ridge with friends two kilometres from Heavitree Gap when she fell, hurting her knee and unable to walk.
Police deployed a drone to locate the injured woman who was 740 metres up steep terrain, and in a coordinated response with paramedics, the woman was retrieved from the ridge via helicopter.
The woman was then transported to the Alice Springs Hospital.
Alice Springs Superintendent Brett Prowse said all those involved should be applauded for the swift and successful retrieval of the injured woman in a difficult location.
