A total of just over 47 per cent (2723) have lodged their picks at the pre-poll centre located at the shopping centre.
The early polling centre in the former Hourglass Jewellers shop in the shopping centre remains open right through to the Saturday NT poll.
It follows recent trends in recent years where more Katherine voters have voted early than vote on the actual day.
More people have voted early in Katherine than in any other electorate across the NT.
Arnhem has recorded 1443 votes and Daly 1900.
The Tindal RAAF Base is included in the Arnhem electorate for the first time.
For the August 22 poll, the polling centres will be at the Civic Centre and MacFarlane Primary School.
Candidates have been advised no campaigning is to be allowed on the pre-poll site, or even in the car park.
On election day, Tindal voters will be able to cast their vote in their new electorate of Arnhem at the community centre but the closest early voting centre is at Katherine.
Times for the pre-poll centre in the shopping centre are:
Monday, August 17 to Friday, August 21 - 8am to 6pm.
