Between 4pm and 4:40pm on May 13, two adult men allegedly chased and assaulted two boys, aged 8 and 9. The victims and alleged offenders are known to each other.
The boys were treated on the scene by St John Ambulance.
Detectives from the Katherine Criminal Investigation Branch have been investigating the incident and are now calling for anyone who was in the vicinity of the Casuarina Street flats in Katherine around the time of the incident to contact 131 444. Please quote reference number 9684199.
Police believe this was an isolated incident and there is no concern for public safety.
